Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Purchasing is responsible to ensure enough supply of raw materials or ingredients suffice for the company’s day-to-day production operations and must have a good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to identify the most profitable offers.  

• Tracking inventory levels to prevent stock-out and/or deadstock.
• Locating key suppliers.
• Reviewing prices and quality.
• Evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, and preparing reports. (e.g., on orders and costs)
• Ensuring supplier materials and products meet the company’s specifications.
• Negotiating the company’s purchasing policies/agreements.
• Maintaining good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.
• Maintaining updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
• Ensuring optimal stock levels from time to time.
• Research potential suppliers and compare.
• Performing related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education, Work Experience, and Physical Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent, or similar role
• Solid analytical skills, with the ability to produce various purchasing & related reports and conduct analyses.
• Negotiation skills.
• Higher Secondary/STPM/A ‘Level/Pre-U/Professional Certificate/Diploma or higher.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices. (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
• Hands-on experience with purchasing software.
• Understanding of supply chain procedures.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook) ) for data logging/tracking & reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with vendors.
• Physically able to perform physical activity including packing & lifting packages/parcels unaided.
• Ability to read, interpret and fulfill written & oral orders in addition to communicating with team members.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Highly disciplined.
